ALEX² Allergy Explorer is the first test in the world that can rapidly and reliably test for up to 300 allergens simultaneously. One blood sample is all that is needed to carry out a comprehensive analysis, making it a valuable diagnostic tool for the assessment of complex cases.

ALEX² Allergy Explorer uses a multi-parameter allergy diagnostic method covering almost all globally relevant allergens in a single laboratory test.  Molecular allergology (MA) is being increasingly used in clinical settings worldwide, providing enhanced diagnostic depth in addition to conventionally extract-based specific IgE (sIgE) testing.

What does the ALEX² Allergy Explorer test for?

The ALEX² Allergy Explorer has a test panel of almost 300 allergens.  These include more than 150 allergen extracts and more than 100 molecular allergens –  pollen, mold (including Malassezia sympodialis), fungus associated with atopic dermatitis and other skin diseases, mites, pets, insects and a range of foods.  

Supplemented with total IgE, ALEX® can cover over 99% of the need for routine allergy diagnosis.  This ground breaking testing method gives allergy patients comprehensive information about the status of their condition, and allows their health professional to better define their individual IgE profile and, in certain cases, improve the identification of their therapeutic strategy, particularly in food allergies.
